Mission Statement

Here at  Canopy Consulting we believe our Urban Forest is the most most overlooked, misunderstood and undervalued natural resource in our communities.  Our trees provide health, envorionmental and economical benifits for everyone to enjoy. As both biotic and abiotic factors have waged war upon Urban Forest through factors like invasive species and constant urban development, we must reconsider the value we put on trees and the approach we take to preserve them.  It is our goal at Canopy Consulting to work with the developers, architects and the home owners alike to create an appropriate balance to preserve our canopy while understanding the demand for continuous urban development.

Since venturing in to the field of arboriculture, I have strived to refine and further my education in Biology with an emphasis on trees and the urban forest. During my years as a Consulting Arborist I have prepared more than a thousand arborist reports, tree inventories and tree risk assessments throughout Southern Ontario. This has provided me with a wealth of knowledge regarding the by-laws, policies and procedures with respect to trees in different municipalities throughout the region. In the past four years, I have received accreditations from both the American Society of Consulting Arborists and the International Society of Arboriculture. Currently I am one of seven ASCA Registered Consulting Arborists residing in Ontario.
